Its fruit are yellow, ripening to a deep, golden color, variable in shape, from prismatic to bell to elongated, and range from three to seven ounce fruit. They are thick-walled, juicy, very sweet, and tasty, making them a good choice for fresh eating, stuffing, and frying.
'Zolostisty' is a Belarusian commercial variety developed at the Belarus Institute of Vegetable Gardening. It was sent to us in 2008 by seed saver, Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus (BELR BA A).

Sow seeds in sterile potting mix, eight weeks prior to your last expected frost date. Plant seeds at a depth equal to two times their thickness. The optimum soil temperature is 80°F. Germination can be erratic. The most common cause of poor germination is the result of uneven planting depths.
Transplant only after night temperatures average above 55°F. Plants are tender and thrive in warm weather. Blossoms drop if temperatures fall below 60°F or if they get too much nitrogen.

One of the best sweet peppers I've ever grown. Plants are short and stocky, but very prolific. Did well in 10 gal grow bags. Lots of peppers that ripen from yellow to orange with a hint of red. Great flavor and can be used for most everything raw or sautéed. I made a delicious roasted pepper soup the other day that was amazing.

This is my new favorite pepper to eat fresh. It's so sweet and crunchy. Just the way I like my peppers. It never starts out green and turns yellow/orange. It is truly a pepper that starts out yellow and turns orange. Very prolific too.
