Zohar F1 is a single-stem, pollen-free hybrid sunflower bred for cut flower production and garden display. It grows 4 to 5 feet tall and produces 4 to 6 inch blooms with rich orange-gold petals around a dark, velvety center disk. Flowers can reach 7 to 8 inches across when plants are spaced further apart.
The pollen free flowers mean you won't have a mess on surfaces or clothing, and allows the cut stems to hold up well in vases.
Zohar is easy to grow. It needs warm soil, full sun, and good drainage - same as any other sunflower. It matures in 40 to 50 days from sowing. Plant every week from mid-spring through early summer for a steady run of blooms all season.

Planting Instructions: Sunflowers are very easy to grow and because of their size, quite spectacular for a child's garden.
Sow directly outdoors, ¾ inches deep. Thin the plants at first to 8 inches and then to two feet to avoid crowding. (We have had good luck transplanting)
Water regularly and weed between the plants to eliminate competition.
Harvest the seeds by cutting the flowering heads when the backs have turned yellow. Complete the drying by hanging them upside down in a warm, dry place.
