An annual flower native to central and southern Europe, it has been cultivated for centuries there, as well as here in America since at least 1804. 'Sweet William Catchfly' prefers well-drained soil and sunny locations, where it will grow to be sixteen to twenty-two inches tall, and display its pink blooms during the summer months.
