55 days to maturity. Sweet Success Cucumber is a hybrid slicing cucumber and a 1983 All-America Selections winner. It was the first seedless cucumber to win an AAS award. The fruits are long, straight, and slender, usually 12 to 14 inches long and about 2 1/4 inches across, with medium to dark green skin and rounded blossom ends.
The skin is thin and smooth, so there is no need to peel it. Inside, the flesh is crisp and white with a sweet, mild flavor. This variety is gynoecious and parthenocarpic. That means the plants produce mostly female flowers and set fruit without pollination, so you don't need bees or a second variety to get a crop. Fruit that is not pollinated stays seedless. If other cucumber varieties grow nearby and cross-pollinate, you may find a few small, undeveloped seeds. For fully seedless fruit, grow it away from other cucumbers or in a greenhouse.
The vines are resistant to cucumber mosaic virus, watermelon mosaic virus, scab, and target leaf spot, and they are tolerant of powdery mildew and downy mildew.

Planting Instructions: Cucumbers grow best with long, hot, humid days with maximum sunshine and warm nights. Plants are extremely susceptible to frost. Sow seeds outside only after danger of frost when soil has warmed. Make a second sowing 4 to 5 weeks later for a late summer or early fall harvest. For an earlier harvest and to reduce the threat of insect damage to seedlings, start a few plants indoors in individual pots (or trays with separate compartments) about a month before your last spring frost date.
