Summertime Gold Open Source Seed Initiative

90 days, dwarf — Summertime Gold is a rugose, potato leaf dwarf with good yields of smooth, oblate shaped fruit in the four to fourteen ounce range. They are a pale, nearly waxy, yellow with a hint of a pink blush on the blossom end of some fruit which darkens post harvest. The flavor is balanced and excellent, with sweetness predominating, but quite intense, not mild. The seed cavities are small, sprinkled throughout the flesh, and the seeds are small.

Developed by members of the "Dwarf Tomato Project" as a selection out of the "Sneezy family" ('Golden Dwarf Champion' and 'Green Giant', cross made by Patrina Nuske Small in 2005). It was selected by David Lockwood in 2007 and named after his daughter, Summer. 'Summertime Gold' was released to the public in 2011 in the Northern Hemisphere and in 2014 in the Southern Hemisphere. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

★★★★★ Abundant tasty tomatoes on a dwarf plant.
By Jackie (Z6b Pennsylvania) on September 20, 2023

I love this tomato! I planted it way too late but it produced lots of tomatoes. On 9/20/23 I harvested the tomatoes in the pictures. I fertilized 2 or 3 times with Miracle Grow and Cal-Mag Plus. I like Cherokee Purple tomatoes and Summertime Gold was equally tasty. I included a photo of the plant to show its size. I did not treat it for any fungal diseases so it it showing late blight like all other tomatoes in my general area.
