'Samsun' is a Turkish-type tobacco that has been historically used as a cigarette and pipe blending tobacco and is prized for its rich aroma and flavor. It has an interesting plant and leaf structure exhibiting a single stalk that is very uniform and erect.
Originally from the region of Turkey by the same name, our 'Samsun' seed stock was from the USDA Nicotiana Collection, accession number PI 552747.
Tobacco plants are very interesting, ornamental, and have uses apart from consumption. This section of the website is intended for the historical and informational purposes of thinking adults.
