60 days — The same or similar to 'Paris Market' and 'Parisian Market'. The small, globe to top-shaped bright orange carrots are not much bigger than typical globe radishes. They are a good choice for container gardening or for gardening in heavy and rocky soils. This is in fact, why they were developed. In the "olden days" when agriculture was local and produce was only available in-season, "forcing" varieties of carrots were developed so that they could be produced in frame or greenhouse conditions.

This very old French market carrot variety is popular in Europe and although increasing in popularity here in the U.S., still generally is thought of as a novelty. Along with being good for growing in containers, they are also an excellent choice for fresh eating, canning and are popular with gourmet restaurants. Each packet contains 1 gram, which is approximately 500 seeds.
Planting Instructions: Loosen rich, well-drained soil to a depth of one foot, in a location that receives 6 to 8 hours of full sunlight per day.

Plant outdoors in spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Plant seeds ¼ inch deep, ½ inches apart in rows that are spaced 12 to 18 inches apart.

Keep moist until germination. Thin to 1 to 2 inches apart after the seedlings are 1½ inches tall.

Water as required and keep soil cultivated to control weeds.

★★★★★ Great soupers
By Kate (Northeast) on March 15, 2023

This was the second year we planted these and they worked great in the fairly shallow soil of our No-dig garden. Snip the tops and they look gorgeous added whole in soups. Freeze well.

★★★★☆ Unique Shape
By Brian Mitchell on December 29, 2018

The small globe shape is endearing... and the flavor is pretty good. These are great for using whole in a roast. The shape and size should also be of value for people trying to grow in dense soils (such as clay).

★★★★★ Unique and tasty

Planted these in early may. Harvested between days 55-70. I did my normal big line of seeds, when I do these again I will probably plant them in more of a zig-zag configuration to accommodate for how wide and bulbous these grow. They look super unique and have a deep, rich carrot flavor that was amazing in salads.
