SKU: 303017190 days — There are conflicting stories regarding the origin of this bean. One legend is that they were originally cultivated by the Passamaquoddy Indians in Maine. Another is that New Englander's named the bean from the Biblical story of Jacob and the spotted cattle. By any account, they are certainly an heirloom and date back to at least the 1700s.
Perfect germination, almost weather indifferent (week of solid rain right after sprouting wasn't nice). Upright plants thick enough to develop bark, constant, heavy production (not quite indeterminate, but close) of enormous beans. By far and away the best green beans ever, wonderful flavor dried. This bean will officially be both my sole green bean planting from now on, and a welcome soup bean.
