โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… Prolific, delicious, and unusual
By Alice (Haddonfield NJ (zone 7B)) on November 15, 2024

Goodness, is this plant prolific! I planted a couple of these, and they both grew beautifully. I pulled out one of the two, but one remains. In fact, it is now November 15, 2024, and I just TODAY picked more than a dozen ripe or nearly ripe fruits from one plant! See photos. There are still at least as many more nearly ripe on the plant, not to mention the dozens I picked earlier in the season. Of course the plant is not producing new fruit now, but those that are on the plant continue to ripen. We have had an unusually warm and dry fall so far, which could explain some of the late fruit. Those plants that are in very full sun are predominantly black. Those that are more shaded have more yellow to them. The flavor is somewhat tart, but not exceedingly so. Delicious in salad or sliced on a bagel. I plan to include at least one of these in my 2025 garden.

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜† It looks really really cool.

I'm not a fan of tart tomatoes, This one stayed kind of small and produced about a dozen fruits. They're tart and tasty and look really really cool with the purple/yellow coloration. I'm not a fan of tart tomatoes and preffer complex or sweet types.
