55 days — 'Golden Ball' turnips have amber-gold colored skin and amber colored flesh. Both its tops, used for turnip greens, and roots are good, tasty, and of excellent eating quality. It is similar in maturity and sowing season to 'Purple Top White Globe'. Each packet contains 0.5 gram, which is approximately 125 seeds. Planting Instructions: Choose a location with rich well-drained soil that receives six to eight hours of full sunlight per day. Loosen to a depth of one foot and rake smooth.
Plant seeds directly outdoors in as soon as soil can be worked. Plant ½ inch deep, ½ to one inch apart. Firm soil and keep moist until seedlings appear. When plants are 1½ tall, thin so that plants are two to three inches apart in rows spaced 18 inches apart.
Water as required and keep the soil cultivated to control weeds.
