German Giant

29 days — 'German Giant is a solid red colored, round shaped, radish with crisp, white, and pungent flesh. It resists getting woody or spongy and can be harvested from golf ball size on up to about the size of a cue ball. To achieve the larger sized radishes, provide them ample space by thinning the seedlings to at least one-inch apart. Each packet contains three grams, which is approximately 200 seeds.
Planting Instructions: Radishes are generally very easy to grow. They are best when sown in spring or late summer but with care can be planted from February to September. Plant small amounts, 5 to 7 days apart for a steady supply.

Plant seeds directly outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. Plant ½ inch deep, ½ inch apart in rows at least 8 inches apart. Firm soil and keep moist until seedlings appear. Radishes have shallow root systems so do keep them watered.

Harvest as soon as roots reach desired size.

★★★★★ Not perfectly round..

This is a very tasty radish even when they get large. But they did grow mis-shapen in my pots. Maybe in ground it would be different. But I am ordering more.

★★★★★ Probably the perfect salad radish

Where to begin? Excessive germination; if not used to radishes, don't over-plant or you will be doing a lot of thinning (I'm am and I did!) fast growing, truly giant, did not get woody or pulpy at any stage, superb flavor. Bolted first year. No pest or disease problems, harvest-able right on time. Probably the perfect salad radish, will try pickling a few.
