Dwarf Saucy Mary Open Source Seed Initiative

65 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of 'Dwarf Saucy Mary' produce loads of four to six ounce, elongated fruit that have green skin, with dark and light green stripes, and that are green-fleshed when ripe. They are juicy and very flavorful.

A "Dwarf Tomato Project" introduction, Craig LeHoullier selected 'Dwarf Saucy Mary' from the "Kiwi" family and named it for his wife Susan's Aunt Mary Kelly. Those who pitched in for the remaining selection and stabilization efforts are Robin Bort, Dan Follett, Bill Yoder, Bill Burke, Chris Mauchline, Nicole Diana, Peter Knight, Patricia Hippeli, Steve Carey, and Donna Marie Kudrak. Bill Minkey produced the release quantity of seed, which was introduced for the 2018 gardening season by the Victory Seed Company and Tatiana's TOMATObase. Each packet contains at least 10 seeds.

★★★★★ The Best Sauce Tomato

This is a very prolific sauce tomato with a big taste! I made salsa with these tomatoes and the green color was fun and soooo delicious! Will definitely grow these every year!

★★★★★ Dwarf Saucy Mary

Grew these this summer. Delicious! Sweeter than I was expecting. Grown in a large tub. The tomatoes were heavy enough that I supported some of the branches. Transplanted out in late May, and ready to eat about mid August.

★★★★☆ Good disease resistance
By Rachel Phillips on July 31, 2022

I grew this in a raised bed along with Dwarf Speckled Heart and Wherokowhai. While the other two tomatoes developed early blight this did not. The flavor is good - tangy and produces a fair amount. I preferred the taste of Dwarf Speckled Heart out of all the three.

★★★★★ Loads of green fleshed, tasty tomatoes from each plant
By Craig LeHoullier on February 7, 2022

This is quite a special tomato....combining super productivity, very attractive light and dark green striped fruit, a glowing green flesh, and lovely flavor. It is wonderful chopped or sliced into salads, or for use to make unique green sauces or salsas. Play with your food - have fun - and give this tomato a try!
