Dwarf Beauty King Certified Naturally Grown Seed

75 days, dwarf — 'Dwarf Beauty King' is a very productive rugose, regular leaf dwarf-type plant. Its fruit are medium sized, oblate shaped, smooth skinned, and red in color with vertical, gold striping; truly beautiful. As an added bonus to their beauty, they offer a rich, balanced flavor.

This "Dwarf Tomato Project" variety originated from a cross by Vince Lavallo in 2011 between an early generation of 'Dwarf Wild Fred' and Wild Boar Farm's 'Beauty King'. This original cross was named "Beauty." 'Dwarf Beauty King' was selected and named in 2013 by Vince. Involved in its stabilization were Vince, Craig LeHoullier, Bill Yoder, Kay Robbins, and Susan Oliverson. Introduced for the 2017 gardening season. Each packet contains 10 seeds.

We in the project love working with the Beauty line - one never knows what sort of color combination will emerge. This is a classic scarlet tomato with vertical jagged gold stripes, a nice medium sized, slightly oblate fruit, and good yield potential. the flesh is deep crimson, and the flavor has it all. The Beauty family releases may be more particular with the climate of the grower - in Raleigh, they had great years and more shy bearing years, but mostly fine. One key is to do a bit of foliage thinning in the plant center to allow air circulation, which minimizes the potential for fungal foliage issues in humid climates. This is well worth a try - it just may end up being one of your favorite tomatoes. I love it!
