Chocolate Bell Pepper

Capsicum annuum

Price: $3.25

SKU: 3310351

70 days - If you like changing things up on your plate, 'Chocolate Bell' pepper's rich, chocolate-brown color with thick flesh and a sweet, bell pepper flavor, make a nice substitute to the same old boring green bells peppers you find at your supermarket. It is fairly early producing from the time of transplanting outdoors, making it a good choice for Northern gardeners.
Sow seeds in sterile potting mix, eight weeks prior to your last expected frost date. Plant seeds at a depth equal to two times their thickness. The optimum soil temperature is 80°F. Germination can be erratic. The most common cause of poor germination is the result of uneven planting depths.

Transplant only after night temperatures average above 55°F. Plants are tender and thrive in warm weather. Blossoms drop if temperatures fall below 60°F or if they get too much nitrogen.

★★★★★ They are sweet and the plants are super hearty. Five stars

All of the seeds we have gotten from Victory have been great but these may be our favorite. Friends and family love them because they are so unique. They taste amazing too. We are new to gardening so I am unable to elucidate exactly what is so great about them but they are the pepperiest peppers I've ever tasted. They are sweet. And the plants are super hearty.
