80 days, determinate — The vigorous, large, regular leaf plants of 'Cherokee' are good for both home gardeners and for market growers as a fresh market tomato. The fruit are medium-large (seven ounces average), beautiful, smooth, red, flattened globe shaped, and full of flavor. The plants were developed with disease resistance to Fusarium Wilt Races 1 and 2, Verticillium Wilt Race 1.
'Cherokee' is not a variant of the heirloom 'Cherokee Purple'. 'Cherokee' was stabilized by the North Carolina Agricultural Experiment Station as a cross between 'Walter' and 'Ace 55 VF'. It was introduced in 1982. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
