'Carolina Bright' is classified as a "flue-cured" type tobacco. It grows five to six feet in height when topped, or six to seven feet when allowed to develop its pink flowers. Its leaves are large (twelve inches wide by twenty-two inches long), and historically used for cigarette and pipe tobacco blending.

Our seed originated from USDA accession number PI 552603 which entered the collection on August 1,1961. Our seed stock was sent to us by David Pendergrass from Tennessee.
