Broken Colors Four-O'Clock

Mirabilis jalapa

Price: $2.95

SKU: 20001521

Broken Colors Four O'Clock is a tender perennial known for its uniquely bi-colored and trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of pink, red, rose, white, and yellow. Flowers open in the late afternoon and remain open through the night, attracting pollinators such as hummingbirds, butterflies, and night-flying moths. The blooms are fragrant, often compared to lilac or jasmine, and continue from midsummer into fall.

These old-fashioned garden favorites are easy to grow and thrive in a wide range of conditions. Plants grow into bushy mounds, die back in winter, and return from tubers in spring. They also reseed readily. To control spreading, grow in containers, and collect seeds at the end of the season. Tubers can be dug and stored like dahlias for propagation or relocation.
