Planting Instructions: If you have a short growing season, plant indoors and transplant after the danger of frost has passed.
Outdoors, sow directly into rich, well-drained soil, ½ to ¾ inches deep, one to two inches apart in rows 18 inches apart. As the plants mature, thin to four inches apart.
They will benefit from deep fertilization with an organic fertilizer.
You can harvest your leeks anytime they are over one inch in diameter. Leeks are naturally resistant to disease and pests.

I planted 4 rows of leeks in my small garden. I planted them too densely and should have thinned them but they still did quite well. It was a real joy to see something different in the garden. The green tops were so pretty. I got hundreds of leeks the diameter of my thumb. I put up at least 2 gallon ziplocks full of washed and chopped leeks ready for potato leek soup or garnishes. The flavor was amazing on the soup I made already so I'm sure the frozen ones will be equally tasty. My soil was adequate. They got maybe 6 hours of sun a day. I watered them almost every day. Good, healthy plants. Highly recommend.
