60 days — 'Blue Delicatesse', as its name implies, has a bluish-purple hue to its skin. It is similar in size to 'Early Purple Vienna' except that it exhibits more uniformity in growth and disease resistance. Its greenish-white flesh is tender and delicious.
We enjoy them raw by simply peeling and slicing. A little salt can be sprinkled on them as desired. Additionally, the greens are used to make an excellent soup. This variety is very popular in Europe, and goes by the name "Blauer Delikatess". Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 250 seeds.
