65 days to maturity. Black Magic F1 produces thick-walled fruits that measure 3 to 4 inches in length. The high-yielding plants are medium-sized, suitable for both field and greenhouse cultivation. Fruits ripen to a deep green, almost black, and develop light skin etching (fine surface cracks) when ready for harvesting. If left on the plant, the fruits will eventually turn red.

Black Magic has a mild heat level of approximately 2,500 Scoville units. They are perfect for fresh eating, grilling, stuffing, pickling, or processing. The plants are resistant to Bacterial Leaf Spot and show strong heat tolerance.

Sow seeds in sterile potting mix, eight weeks prior to your last expected frost date. Plant seeds at a depth equal to two times their thickness. The optimum soil temperature is 80°F. Germination can be erratic. The most common cause of poor germination is the result of uneven planting depths.

Transplant only after night temperatures average above 55°F. Plants are tender and thrive in warm weather. Blossoms drop if temperatures fall below 60°F or if they get too much nitrogen.

★★★★★ Wow! Very productive

Planted 7 black magic F1 plants in the spring. Based on last years with TAM Jalapeños, i was hoping to get a couple dozen jalapeños from them. With these Black Magic F1s, we just got through slicing and dicing almost 300 good sized jalapeños and theres still a good sized crop on the plants. And this is after 4 weeks of 97-103 temps here in texas. They just keep on going! Nice heat and taste.
