Black Krim Tomato

SKU: 3400211'Black Krim' originated from Krim (the Crimean Peninsula) near the Black Sea. It was first made available in the United States through the Seeds Savers Exchange in their 1990 yearbook by seed saver, Lars Olov Rosenstrom of Bronna, Sweden. He commented that in his location, the fruit turned black in his heated greenhouse as opposed to the brownish-purple coloration that they exhibit when grown outdoors. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

I grew this type last summer and now that I'm planning my gardens I asked my family which veggies and fruit they most wanted... Much to my surprise the Black Krim was number one on the list. I was a little surprised because the first few ripe Black Krim's I had to beg people to, just try it. Due to the unusual color they'd say it didn't look appealing. These are one of my favorites too and I'll be growing a minimum of six plants.

Great tomato. Mostly eight to ten ounces, produced all season, great flavor. Plant it every year. Prefer it to 'Cherokee Purple'.

We are enjoying these tomatoes although they are unusual in shape. They are very large and have lots of nooks and crannies. We have been using them for cooking and find the delicious. Not so great for slicing.
