SKU: 40000521Annual. Bells of Ireland is grown for its green, bell-shaped calyxes. This old-fashioned garden annual is useful as a fresh or dried flower. White flowers are fragrant, but inconspicuous. Plants grow best in full sun but tolerate some shade and poor soils if very well-drained. Does not grow well in hot, humid climates. Reseeds readily.

Sowing Outside: Direct sow 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date. Scatter the seeds where you want them. The seeds will germinate when the soil temperature reaches 50°F.
For inside sowing, chill seeds in your fridge for 1-2 weeks before sowing. Then sow in pots 6 to 8 weeks before your average last frost date. Handle the seedlings with care; roots are very sensitive to disturbance.
