90 days, indeterminate — The slightly wispy, regular leaf plants of 'Bell's German Pink' are very productive. The fruit are pink, oblate to blunt heart-shaped, and large. Eight to twenty ounce fruit are typical but one-pounders are plentiful. The flavor is on the sweet side and mild with dense flesh making this a fantastic sauce tomato, as well as for slicing.
We received our original seed sample in early 2021 from Craig LeHoullier who received the tomato in 2019 from a gardener named Julie Overman from Indiana. She described how her father, William "Mike" Overman had been stewarding the tomato since the early 2000s after receiving it from a friend of his from church in Bloomington, Indiana named Don Bell[1]. Mike always referred to it simply as the "German Tomato." Introduced by the Victory Seed company for the 2022 gardening season. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
