Each bloom has tropical-colored petals marked with dark purple or black, giving the effect of soft brush strokes. Flowers open in a deep raspberry shade, then mature to soft rose, always with a dark inky center.
Tattoo™ Raspberry plants reach 10 to 14 inches tall, with glossy green leaves and a uniform upright habit. They branch well and produce a heavy flush of flat, 5-petaled flowers. They grow well in containers, borders, or group plantings.
These vinca grows best in full sun to partial shade and shows its strongest color contrast in warm weather with full sun. In cooler or lower light settings, flowers take on a darker tone with more purple. During the hottest parts of the summer, colors may appear lighter.

Starting Vinca Indoors
Indoor sowing works best because vinca seeds require dark, warm conditions. Start seeds 10-12 weeks before your last frost date. Use a sterile, seed-starting mix and plant seeds about 1/8 inch deep. Since they need darkness to sprout, cover lightly with soil or vermiculite. Keep the temperature between 75–78°F and maintain even moisture without overwatering.Seeds usually sprout in 10-15 days. Once seedlings emerge, provide strong light for 14-16 hours a day. Thin crowded seedlings and grow them in individual cells or small pots to avoid disturbing the roots later. Before transplanting outdoors, harden seedlings for about a week by gradually introducing them to outdoor conditions.
Plant outside only after nights stay above 60°F and the soil has warmed. Space plants 8-12 inches apart in well-drained soil. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings, since vinca dislikes soggy ground.
Direct Sowing Outdoors
Direct sowing vinca is less dependable, but it can be done after frost when soil temperatures reach at least 70°F. Sow seeds shallowly, about 1/8 inch deep, and press the soil gently.
