60 days — Also known as 'Apple' cucumbers, 'Lemon' cucumber vines are vigorous and productive, producing fruit about the size and color of a lemon. Flesh is crispy white, sweet, and burpless. The fruit is ripe when it first starts to turn yellow, but can be used green or ripe.

A very old variety dating back to Samuel Wilson's (Mechanicsville, Pennsylvania) catalog in 1894. Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 25 to 30 seeds.
Planting Instructions: Cucumbers grow best with long, hot, humid days with maximum sunshine and warm nights. Plants are extremely susceptible to frost. Sow seeds outside only after danger of frost when soil has warmed. Make a second sowing 4 to 5 weeks later for a late summer or early fall harvest. For an earlier harvest and to reduce the threat of insect damage to seedlings, start a few plants indoors in individual pots (or trays with separate compartments) about a month before your last spring frost date.

Sowing: To seed in rows, plant seeds 1 inch deep and about 6 inches apart. To plant in hills, plant four or five seeds in 1-foot-diameter circles set 5 to 6 feet apart.

★★★★★ Delicious, prolific and fun to Share!
By Marshall Gibson on February 25, 2018

These are a lot of fun, delicious and a novelty as I have never seen them in the store. I went a little overboard and grew too many of these. I believe I planted six plants and I was up to my eyeballs in lemon cukes after a while. It will just be one plant this year I think, as I couldn't get rid of them fast enough.

I did take a lot of these to work and everybody loved them after asking me what they were. I also started giving them away free on Craigslist ... ha ha!

Note: They do not taste like apples or lemons ... they do taste like delicious cucumbers though. I recommend peeling them first.

★★★★★ Wonderful & Fun Cucumber to Grow
By Stephanie Forsyth on June 28, 2012

I have grown Lemon cucumbers for the past several years. They are wonderfully sweet and perfect for just one or two people. Perfect in salads or eaten by themselves. Vines are vigorous growers and are prolific producers.
