Large Red Cherry

75 days — As its name implies, the fruit of 'Large Red Cherry' are shaped like cherries, but larger, and have smooth skin. The flesh is thick and sweet. They make a nice addition to salads or are good for canning or pickling. Can be used in the green stage or at the red, ripe stage.

Although this is a very mild pepper, depending on the growing conditions, they can reach up five hundred Scoville Units. If you look on the chart, you will note that five hundred is extremely low. Each packet contains 0.25 gram, which is approximately 30 seeds.

★★★★☆ Great on the grill
By Michele Ascher on April 26, 2015

My favorite way to eat these is to cut off the top and remove the seeds. Then stuff with a bit of fresh mozzarella and brush with olive oil. Grill until the peppers begin to soften and the cheese starts to melt. Makes a great summer appetizer. I also slice a few of these and add to my bread and butter pickles.

★★★★☆ Good, but less productive
By Amber Schooley on October 28, 2013

When green, the taste reminds me a lot of the Anaheim chili. They still haven't ripened on my plant, so I'm not sure what they taste like ripe. My only complaint is that they don't seem to be nearly as productive as on my purple beauty and California wonder pepper plants, including the one that I allow the peppers to ripen on. I have only gotten 3 peppers even though the plant was transplanted 4 months ago.
