55 days — 'Homemade Pickles' cucumber vines produce heavily if you keep up with harvesting. Its fruit are solid, crisp, and can be picked immature at about two inches long, or left on the vines to reach about five inches in length at full maturity. As its name implies, 'Homemade Pickles' cucumber is primarily used as a pickling cucumber. Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 25 to 30 seeds.
Planting Instructions: Cucumbers grow best with long, hot, humid days with maximum sunshine and warm nights. Plants are extremely susceptible to frost. Sow seeds outside only after danger of frost when soil has warmed. Make a second sowing 4 to 5 weeks later for a late summer or early fall harvest. For an earlier harvest and to reduce the threat of insect damage to seedlings, start a few plants indoors in individual pots (or trays with separate compartments) about a month before your last spring frost date.

Sowing: To seed in rows, plant seeds 1 inch deep and about 6 inches apart. To plant in hills, plant four or five seeds in 1-foot-diameter circles set 5 to 6 feet apart.

★★★★★ Cukes Gone Wild!
By Becki McDermott on March 22, 2015

This cuke goes crazy! From 2 hills, I put up 44 pints of various types of pickles and relishes, gave away cukes until nobody wanted any more and finally just had my husband pull them up because as long as they were bearing (and they didn't seem to want to stop), I felt obligated to make sure they were used. Best producer I've ever grown!

★★★★★ Grew wonderfully
By Valerie Whitman on July 31, 2012

Have to harvest cucumbers every day because they grow so fast! Starts producing within a few weeks of planting and is a super producer. Crunchy, tasty cucumbers and have had the pleasure of canning for the past two years. Can get bitter if not watered enough during the hot summer and the cucumber beetles LOVE them. No GMO here! Thank you!
