SKU: 3050011The plants grow tall (thirty to thirty-six inches), erect and leafy. They produce central heads that are bluish-green in color and average from three to five inches across. If planted early in the spring, the main head can be harvested in the summer, the plants laid down, and side shoots harvested for continuing weeks. Frost resistant.
You can also plant directly in the soil, at a depth of about ¼ to ½ inch, in mid-Spring. Thin to a final plant spacing of 15 to 18 inches in rows two to three feet apart.
Avoid providing too much nitrogen. Broccoli likes cool weather and will head too early in warm temperatures. Harvest the heads before the individual flowers mature and begin to open.

Was not expecting such big plants! I started them inside and moved them outdoors and then had a cold snap right afterwards. They still came through very strong. I'm harvesting good handfuls from each plant each day. They do take up a lot more space than I was imaging though - first time growing broccoli.

Started some in the house, and some direct seeded. Both did well, made for spread out harvesting. Tasty!

This broccoli never did form a main head for me. It sent up endless little florets all over. The bud size is large, so it almost looks like raab more than the usual broccoli. I didn't get much at any one time on each plant, so I would suggest planting several. The flavor is good and even the stems were tender. Each floret is borne on a new stem, so they don't have a chance to get thick or woody. I like this different kind of broccoli, but I should have planted more.
