SKU: 31404411Glass Gem is stunningly beautiful, and in my northern garden grows reliably. While I let mine get too dry to pop well hanging around as decoration, I did grind some up to use in corn meal muffins, and found them delightful.
Gorgeous! I grew a couple of small areas this year, but am planning on a much bigger garden next year. My class gem corn will definitely have its own plot.
I grew this corn in 2014 and it was prolific!!! I still have some and it has preserved beautifully. I left it on the cobs, hanging on the kitchen wall, so beautiful, and took it from the cob as I ground it for cornbread, etc. The full-bodied flavor is as if I had grown it last season. I rolled some fish in it today ... mmm so yummy. Thank you for offering this gem.
I only grew a small garden of this but next year much more ... The beauty of the ears is amazing ... totally worth growing.
Planted this corn for fun. The spectacular colors were too much for me to pass up. Corn grew great even in the blistering west Texas heat. Everyone is amazed.
Ok, so I bought these on a whim and I'm a sucker for unique plants. They all sprouted this spring and made the most beautiful corn I've ever seen. I gave a bunch away to friends who all were amazed by the colors and are using it for fall decorating. I wasn't able to get the kernels to pop well but the taste was still fantastic. I can't say enough about how great this rare and interesting variety is. Can't wait to plant an even larger block next year.
