SKU: 3310280170-80 Day to maturity. The New Mexico chile pepper cultivar, Big Jim, was released by New Mexico State University in 1975 (Nakayama, 1975). It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as producing the world's largest pepper pod at 13.5 inches long (Coon et al., 2008). They have a sublime flavor with a hint of spice, just a tad spicier than sweet peppers, which is great for families or for guests who don't like things too hot. The Big Jim chili pepper is best used in Chile Rellenos, stuffed peppers, and New Mexico cuisines.
