75 days — A variety of sweet basil, 'Lettuce Leaf' produces compact, vigorous eighteen to twenty-four inch tall plants. The leaves are large, significantly larger than regular sweet basil, slightly savoyed, delivering an exceptionally mild and sweet flavor.

'Lettuce Leaf' basil is a very productive variety that produces all season long and is slow to bolt. Prefers well-drained soil, even moisture, and full sun. An annual. Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 350 seeds.
Planting Instructions: Lettuce and other greens thrive in cool spring and fall weather (50° F to 60° F). A few greens can handle summer heat, but most of them prefer the cooler temperatures of spring and fall. Most lettuce and greens can withstand occasional exposure to light frost but if very cold weather is coming, protect your plants with a frost cover.

Sowing: Prepare the seedbed outdoors using a hard tined rake, smoothening out the soil. Lightly sow and just barely cover the seeds with soil. Keep soil moist until germination is achieved. You can also start seeds indoors by sowing into seed starting trays using fresh new seed starting potting mix into clean seed starting trays. Just barely cover the seeds and keep well watered until they sprout. Harden off and transplant into the garden after about 3 weeks.

★★★★★ Fun Basil!
By Mikki (Texas) on March 7, 2024

A very fun Basil to watch grow! Germinated in just a few days, hoping I remember to update this review with more photos once it's a bit bigger. This basil is 25 days old at this point. Very happy with my purchase

★★★★★ GREAT Basil
By Hope M. (Florida) on January 12, 2023

This is hands down the best Basil I've ever grown and possibly the best herb I've ever grown. It was very slow to bolt, even in the high Florida heat. I also found it fairly drought tolerant, though it did need water at least every other day when the temperature was over 83F and daily if in pots. The best thing about this basil was the fact that it grew wherever I planted it. Pots, beds, directly in the ground, in the holes of concrete blocks! It grew in full sun and dappled shade (though it did get a bit leggy, still delicious)... I can't wait to grow it again.

★★★★★ A marvel and slow to bolt!
By Nancy Burns on May 21, 2016

I'm blown away by this basil. It grows like a champion and the description does not lie, the leaves can grow as big as 6 to 7 inches! As long as you don't sow too deep and give it some space, this is the ideal basil. It recovers beautifully from a snip here and there and it doesn't bolt too fast. It tastes a bit milder than Italian or sweet basil and frankly this is preferable in my mind. Forget lettuce wraps, do basil wraps! I like the basil so much I'm buying a second packet because I'm afraid it's going to run out.
